Teak + Talk
The owners of this beautiful 1920s cottage-style home came to me with a specific request. They wanted an intimate outdoor entertaining area for get-togethers with family and friends connected to their home's charm.
The anchor piece of this project was the round teak table with a custom finish crafted to patina over time. The finish gave it a unique, lived-in look and the dovetail joinery brought stability to the uniquely shaped legs. We surrounded the table with sustainably made Danish garden chairs for additional texture and shape. The heart-shaped backs of the Danish chairs made them sexy and approachable.
For the lounging area, I added items to incorporate different textures and flexibility. For additional seating, we added African stools which were originally ceremonial tables.
The result was a charming, welcoming, and comfortable environment for outdoor dining, summer cocktails, and intimate conversations with friends.
